In News & Opinion by TWANGnBANG

According to Politico.com, the Sportmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enchancement Act, or the SHARE Act, may end up on the floor of the US House of Representatives next week.  The Act most recently breezed through the Natural Resources Committee, with the Judiciary Committee allowing it to go straight to the House floor. Politico reports that Jim Pasco, head of the Fraternal …

The Maxim 50 is Now the Maxim 47?

In News & Opinion by TWANGnBANG

It was bound to happen. California, New Jersey, and Massachusetts have each served SilencerCo with legal challenges to their new Maxim 50 integrally suppressed muzzleloader.  These party pooper states are upset that their existing laws don’t actually ban something that makes gun people happy, even though it takes forever to load and is still very loud and smoky despite the …

Maxim 50 Suppressed Muzzleloader is Here!

In News & Opinion by TWANGnBANG

That’s right!  SilencerCo finally did what many of us wanted to see and suppressed a muzzleloader.  What surprises me most, though, is the fact that it’s 50-state legal.  Anyone over 18 years old and otherwise legally able to purchase a muzzleloader can purchase the Maxim 50 online. How did they do it?  It’s because gun laws are dumb, but sometimes …

SHARE Act Moving Forward

In News & Opinion by TWANGnBANG

The Sportsmen’s Heritage and Recreational Enhancement Act of 2017, or H.R.3668 SHARE Act, passed an important vote in the House Committee on Natural Resources this week despite some outlandish claims from anti-gun members of the committee (e.g., silencers make guns armor piercing).  This means the bill now moves to the full US House of Representatives, a very big step towards …

Residents of Florida in areas under mandatory evacuation orders can carry a concealed weapon without a permit under SB 290, passed then signed into law by Gov. In News & Opinion by TWANGnBANG

I bought XS Big Dots for my Glock G20 back in the 90s because I fully bought into the idea of having a large front aiming dot for fast sight acquisition. The V-shaped rear, however, is what killed the experience for me.  As fast as the Big Dots were for me up close, I never adapted to the sight picture …
