The Secret Service released security camera footage of the shooting that took place in May. This was a *perfect* center of mass hit. Anyone notice the problem with actually shooting center of mass?
I’m not suggesting this is where the agent was aiming, and heck, I couldn’t even get my finger from the frame to the trigger under similar circumstances decades ago, but I do not train to shoot center of mass, nor have any of my instructors taught that since the 90s. That guy went down, but he still had a lot of control over himself, and if he were more mentally determined, he could’ve still returned fire. A shot three to six inches higher would’ve greatly reduced that chance which is why aiming for the upper third of the torso is what most instructors seem to be teaching anymore.
